Company Description The Washington State Council Painting Contractors Association (WSCPCA) unites painting contractors across the state to elevate industry standards, foster education, and grow successful businesses through advocacy, networking, mentorship and educational resources.
Role Description This contract position integrates marketing strategy, member engagement and operations into a unified role. The ideal candidate is a social media strategist with solid relationship building skills. If you enjoy building community across a variety of channels and are able to keep operations running smoothly for a growing association this role is for you! Adding this position to our team enhances member value and elevates the association’s visibility -- ultimately driving recruitment, retention, and long-term growth.
While this is a primarily remote position, we are seeking candidates based in the Greater Seattle Area who able to attend in person events.
Monthly Fee for Service: $2,500
Desired Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in marketing or communications, with background in association or non-profit management, small business entities, or the painting industry.
Demonstrated success in orchestrating creative social media or outreach campaigns designed to connect with new audiences.
Experience in creating professional designs and digital and print marketing materials (Canva or equivalent).
Familiarity or interest in learning more about the painting contractor community.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; collaborative and adaptable.
Strong project management, problem solving and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Familiarity with CRM systems, email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), and association software (e.g., Wild Apricot).
Comfortable building relationships via live in person events, email, phone and virtual channels.
Key Responsibilities Marketing & Communications
Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies to grow membership and visibility.
Manage social media presence, create monthly e-newsletters, and produce branded content in Canva or desired software.
Design and coordinate promotional materials and signage for events, sponsorships, and campaigns (flyers, signage, premiums, etc.).
Oversee website and social media updates and track analytics for continuous improvement.
Member Services & Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for members, providing responsive communication and support.
Develop and implement membership campaigns, identifying prospective members and conducting targeted outreach.
Manage renewals, track metrics, and execute member programs and benefits while maintaining accurate information in database.
Coordinate member engagement and appreciation activities by building relationships that strengthen connections and encourage participation in WSC PCA events.
Events & Programs
Collaborate with staff, board and partners to support events, including registration, vendor management, logistics, and promotion.
Attend in-person PCA events to provide support, connect with members and capture engagement through photos and videos. While most events are in the Seattle area, one annual event takes place in Chelan.
Represent the organization at external events hosted by vendors or partners.
Operations & Administration
Develop and maintain systems, documentation, and records that support effective association management – including monthly financial reports and board minutes.
Support invoicing, and payment processing related to events, membership, and sponsorships.
Serve as key point of contact for administrative systems, including database and electronic filing systems.
Employment Terms and Compensation This is a contract role, with the expectation of working an estimated average of 15 hours a week. Work can be completed at any time; however, the candidate should have some availability during weekdays, between 10-3.
