Job Title
Strategist, XOSPATA Access Marketing
Location Northbrook, IL (Hybrid work from certain states permitted in accordance with Astellas’ Responsible Flexibility Guidelines)
Purpose Strategist, XOSPATA Access Marketing will be responsible for development and execution of market access marketing tactical plans as well as budget management for XOSPATA and will be a key member of the brand team. Must have the ability to integrate data/information from Brand, Field Sales and Market Access field teams, Medical, Market Access leadership, and primary and secondary market research to develop marketing materials, messaging, and programs. Must have a strong understanding of the various external market access customers and marketing/distribution channels. This position often utilizes and manages external vendors and partners closely with Market Access Lead and XOSPATA Local Brand Team.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Reports to the Head of XOSPATA to determine market access insights and data needs for strategic and growth planning.
Responsible for development of XOSPATA market access marketing materials tactics, collaborating closely with cross‑functional team which includes the brand team, Payer, IDN, and GPO teams, sales and MAx field leadership, CL&D, legal, regulatory, Insights & Analytics, contracting, and Medical.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Market Access Lead and field teams partners to ensure alignment on the development and implementation of tactical programs for the various MAx account teams and sales teams.
Develop the access strategic plan by assembling the appropriate market access insights for the disease state/product area to which assigned.
Lead XOSPATA GPO Marketing Tactical Execution and Budget.
Lead the pre‑approval information exchange (PIE) strategy and plan and execute the creation and training of PIE resources in collaboration with Market Access and HEOR to educate payor and IDN customers in advance of launch to support access.
Lead the planning, development and training/roll‑out of Value Prop, actuarial model, trade materials, payer/market access‑oriented RWE/PRO materials, guidelines/pathways educational materials, Access and Affordability (e.g., OOP) materials, payer access pull‑through materials, EHR strategy and order set materials, and other field resources to Astellas field teams working closely with HEOR and medical.
Manage budget and coordinate with Marketing as needed to ensure alignment of tactics and budget with brand plan.
Develop and monitor KPI metrics to assess impact to business and future actions to support growth strategy.
Organize the development/maintenance and review of market access/sales materials for various campaigns (MAP).
Review changes in the healthcare environment that may require the inclusion of data and brand consequences by leadership in the strategic decision process.
Collaborate with XOSPATA Marketing colleagues and cross‑functional departments (including sales) to maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Quantitative Dimensions Sales Budget: Directly impacted by Tactical implementation and creative solutions toward implementation.
A and P Budget: Directly impacted by the efficient use of resources including vendors, negotiation for services both internally and externally, and monitoring of budget.
Organizational Context The Market Access Assistant Director provides development opportunities in the Market Access Marketing continuum that directly engages in and has responsibility for developing growth and LOE strategic plans as well as developing access specific tactics to align with strategy. This position continues to more fully develop working relationships with external partners and internal colleagues from other departments (including, and not limited to, sales, market research, legal, medical, and regulatory). This is the “next step” in the career of a market access marketer in which added responsibilities for strategic and tactical plan development and implementation are required. The position reports to Head of XOSPATA and collaborates with colleagues from a variety of departments including XOSPATA Local Brand Teams.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree.
7+ years of related, relevant experience (e.g., sales, sales training, market research, marketing operations, etc.).
More than 3 years of general marketing experience within the hospital space or equivalent education.
Demonstrated ability to be a high‑level contributor or leader of a project, process or function.
Ability to converse with professionals about the disease state and/or product category assigned to.
Willingness to travel (30% to 40%).
Preferred Qualifications
Strong experience in the oncology space as well as disease state or product category to which assigned.
Specialized training in the specific assigned area is a big plus.
5+ years of pharmaceutical marketing experience or specialized education in pharmaceutical tactical and strategic planning.

Salary Range $134,330 – $211,090 (Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and organizational equity considerations)
