Job Title: Dispatcher
The Dispatcher receives assistance requests from clients and customers, and assigns individuals and teams to respond to those requests. Responsibilities when working in the radio room include: Using caution when scanning out equipment and ensuring the correct status is showing. Leaving your station clean and organized at the end of your shift. Keeping the room tidy and organized, dont leave trash or anything to clean up for the next shift. Making sure to stock the PPE throughout the day. Writing employee numbers on vests. Replacing barcodes as needed. Covering the battery ports on bad batteries when needed. Cleaning equipment as it comes in and throwing the rag in the trash at the end of your shift. Continuously scanning in the dropbox and not leaving it to collect. During hydration season, assisting in keeping merchandiser and hydration packets stocked throughout the day. Notifying a SWA Leader if the folders have not been scanned out by 10am for AM folders or 4pm for PM folders. Checking in the equipment and marking it as damaged. Listing in the NOTE field what is wrong with the asset. Filling out a Damaged Asset tag completely and placing it in the damaged bin. Specific to the opening employee: retrieving any equipment left in the Command Center from the night before, ensuring that equipment is showing in the correct status, and assisting with searching for any missing assets. Specific to the closing employee: ensuring that all equipment is scanned in and clean, double-checking the Missing List from the day before to see if something was missed, taking the designated number of scanners, radios, and scanner batteries to the Command Center, ensuring water is stocked in the merchandiser for the AM employees. A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
