Music Graduate Assistant - Fall 2026
Job Summary:
The Graduate Assistant will provide support across designated areas within the Music Department, which may include band, choral, orchestral, music education, jazz studies, and/or music therapy. Specific assignments will be determined based on the candidate’s background, skill set, and area of expertise to ensure alignment with departmental needs.
The Graduate Assistant is expected to carry out all duties in a manner that is professional, courteous, and efficient, fostering a welcoming and productive environment for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.
This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a dynamic academic setting while contributing meaningfully to the department’s mission and daily operations.
Description of Job Duties:
Assist faculty/staff in supporting the classrooms, labs, and department
Setting up, picking up, and checking‑in classroom items for class/practice
Other job duties as assigned
Terms of Employment:
Employment at will
Begin work at the start of the Fall 2026 semester
Reports to Chair of Music Department
Safety and job‑related trainings will be completed as instructed
Eligible to receive a tuition waiver each semester and stipend
A Graduate Assistant should be working at a level higher than an undergraduate student employee. For example: teaching/instructing undergraduates in or out of the classroom as assigned, critiquing/grading undergraduate work/skills, etc.
Review of applications for Fall 2026 Graduate Assistants will begin December 1, 2025 and the positions will remain open until filled.

Bachelor’s degree completed
