About Stripe Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About The Team The UX Research team is part of Stripe’s Design team and works across product and marketing initiatives to more effectively and efficiently deliver products and experiences that fulfill user needs. Our main audience is other people who build products, and we agonize over and take pride in crafting user‑friendly, user‑focused experiences. In addition to conducting primary research, we enable other Stripe employees (engineers, product managers, designers, marketers, sales, operations, etc.) to learn and apply research skills to global problems. You will play a role in shaping how we build research as a core competency across Stripe and defining how we put users first when conducting research.

What You’ll Do As a Staff UX Researcher, you will be dedicated to the Payments team and collaborate directly with product, engineering, analytics, marketing, and design teams. The Payments team focuses on offering solutions that empower our merchants to achieve the most optimum payment performance by balancing regulatory requirements against conversion, costs, and fraud considerations. You will work on rich problem spaces such as understanding users’ preferences and needs of payments routing to evolve Stripe Orchestration, and shaping products to help businesses optimize payment margins. This is an opportunity for an experienced researcher who is interested in applying their craft to help build new product experiences that help businesses increase revenue and lower their costs, across the globe.

In‑Office Expectations Office‑assigned Stripe employees in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team, and location. For example, Stripe employees in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in‑office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico, and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Some teams have greater in‑office attendance requirements to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in‑person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.
