Demographic Research & Planning Specialist Struction Solutions is searching for a Demographic Research & Planning Specialist who plays a key role in providing data‑driven insights and analysis to support decision‑making for school district planning, zoning, and demographic forecasting.

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Key Responsibilities

Perform collection, research, and analysis of a broad range of demographic data sources such as student records and population data from district and state agencies.

Generate reports, graphs, and charts and develop presentations to convey findings.

Use statistical analysis to develop student projections and enrollment by school or cluster for proposed boundary changes.

Compile and assess demographic research and statistical studies involving enrollment projections and fluctuations at schools and various district areas.

Produce summaries and written materials to provide stakeholders with accessible demographic information for informed decision‑making.

Analyze proposals for attendance zone changes and assess impacts on school construction projects.

Respond to inquiries about zoning and enrollment data, including demographic and geographic issues, from district staff and outside agencies.

Participate in field on‑site surveys to determine demographic and geographic student population data and project classroom capacities.

Develop and maintain zone grid maps to determine school locations and boundaries for the district.

Maintain quality control of maps and documents.

Perform other related tasks as required.

Required Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of full‑time professional experience in research, mapping, or data analysis, particularly in demography, urban planning, geography, or statistics.

Experience with school or enrollment data analysis preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in a relevant field such as urban planning, mathematics, geography, economics, or related areas.

Knowledge / Skills

Proficiency in statistical analysis methods.

Expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), especially ArcGIS10, and related software for mapping and data visualization.

Knowledge of cartographic techniques and mapping concepts.

Strong understanding of research methods and principles for demographic and geographic studies.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for data management and presentation.

Familiarity with best practices in demography and related terminologies.
