Your Role Gensler Los Angeles is currently seeking an experienced Technical Designer (Job Captain) with a successful track record and architectural background. In this position, you will collaborate with a team of designers and architects to produce technical documentation and communicate project progress to team members, ensuring our projects exceed client expectations. What You Will Do Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction of projects
Provide project team coordination for incorporating design intent into construction documentation
Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues and maintain quality control during construction
Coordinate and Direct consultants, specification writersto meet overall project objectives
Collaborate with Contractors, Fabricators and Regulatory Agencies /3rd party teams
Utilize hand sketches and 3D software, and Revitto communicate design concepts
Your Qualifications 3-8years of related professional experience
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
Experience in leading retail projects is a plus
Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications and construction techniques
Knowledge of sustainable design strategies and experience on net zero projects is a plus
Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
Strong leadership, organizational, verbal and written communication, and relationship management skills
Strong Revit skills (Level 4 or 5) required; and experience in AutoCad, Adobe CS, SketchUp, and other 3D modeling software a plus
On the path to licensure preferred
Applications will not be considered without uploaded portfolio/work samples **The base salary will be estimated between $80-95k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
