Job Summary The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for delivering end‑to‑end product portfolio management for assigned categories that results in the Youtheory brand consistently delivering its sales, profit, market share, and customer ranking goals. The Product Manager will lead the development and execution of a robust 2‑3 year innovation pipeline and plays a key role in driving the brand to best‑in‑class performance behind a “General Manager” mindset. This position is expected to help drive profit and revenue growth through industry‑leading innovation plans, product portfolio management, product marketing execution, trade integration and financial management. For this role, you will collaborate with various internal teams to conduct market and competitive analyses, and develop profitable positioning and pricing strategies.
Key Responsibilities Business Planning
Work with VP of Marketing to build and implement an annual operating plan (AOP) for the assigned portfolio of products that achieves aligned objectives and targets.
Use quarterly planning cycles to ensure product portfolio plans and commercial execution are delivering against objectives and achieve sales, profit and market share targets.
Make continuous improvements to portfolio management planning process through on‑going optimizations and key learnings.
Lead product strategy development for the assigned product portfolio, ensuring that insights and data are utilized to form compelling business cases that clearly identify consumer need, product reason to believe, communications strategy (if relevant), competitive assessment, and sales & profit potential.
Plan, develop and execute a strong 2‑3 year innovation pipeline.
Manage innovation through stage‑gate process, in conjunction with PMO support.
Conduct ongoing SKU management process in partnership with Sales, S&T and Operations.
Own and track the delivery of the P&L for the assigned product portfolio.
Ensure compliance with all US Regulatory standards and Legal requirements across campaign materials.
Project Management
Manage project timelines, ensuring all product marketing activities are executed on schedule and within budget.
Coordinate cross‑functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency in product launch execution.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with the sales, consumer communications team and creative teams to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives.
Collaborate with and support sales and consumer communications team on channel‑specific needs, and identify trade needs and opportunities.
Manage the team to deliver sales sell‑in materials for innovation as needed to bring to life our key initiatives for the sales organization and their customers.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Data and Analytics
Analyze brands and market trends and recommend actions to be taken.
Initiate and understand market research projects to deliver powerful consumer and customer insights as the basis for long‑term brand growth and develop actionable plans.
Interpret consumption data and make recommendations to increase consumer sales.
Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, providing regular reports and insights to VP of Marketing.
Key Performance Metrics
On‑time delivery of key innovation milestones (briefs, packaging, copy, samples, etc.).
Sales enablement materials delivered on time and with clear value messaging.
Timely progression through stage‑gate checkpoints (in partnership with PMO).
Sales performance vs. plan for priority assigned product portfolio and new launches.
Gross margin adherence on new launches (vs. forecast).
Contribution to portfolio profitability and productivity (e.g., avg. sales per SKU improvement).
# of SKUs reviewed and updated quarterly (pack, pricing, content, positioning).
Support in rationalization analysis or productivity tracking (% of SKUs evaluated with insights).
% of new product pages live and complete at time of launch (copy, assets, claims).
Timeliness and accuracy of product content updates across e‑comm and retail platforms.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements
College or University Business Degree.
5‑7 years marketing experience within a consumer‑packaged goods, beauty or VMS environment.
Strong business acumen and track record of over‑delivering results.
Experience in developing breakthrough consumer connections and communications.
Excellent time‑management / project‑management skills (ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines and multiple stakeholder demands).
A team player who can inspire and lead a cross‑functional team.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
An entrepreneurial and creative spirit with the ability to deliver solutions if process is absent.
A strong passion for improving the world’s Health & Wellness.
Willingness to roll up sleeves initially, and transition to having multiple direct reports as the business grows.
Experience in health and wellness industry is considered an asset.
