The Oakland University Writing Center (OUWC) seeks undergraduate and graduate students with significant writing experience. Consultants work one-on-one with campus writers at all stages of the writing process, create and offer presentations on writing-related topics, and research center services.
Prerequisites:
Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program at least half time
Completion of first year writing requirements and at least one disciplinary writing course
GPA of 3.0 or better
Availability to work at least two semesters after the semester of hire because training takes several weeks
Willingness to work at least five (5) hours per week
Ability not only to write well but also to coach others on their writing without doing the work for them
