Freelance Writer – TransPerfect
DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking several English (US) Freelance Writers to produce high‑quality content for testing and improving Machine Translation technology.
Work Location: Remote in the United States
Start Date: Immediate
Estimated Work Schedule/Workload: Approximately 18 hours over a 2‑week period (actual schedule may vary)
Rate: $505 USD per accepted short story (around 6,500 words) – covering all stages, including revisions after QA and client feedback.
Task Summary
Writers will be required to complete one short story of approximately 6,500 words. The task begins with submitting a brief plot for approval. Once the plot is approved, writers will submit the first 1,000 words of the story for review. Upon approval of the initial excerpt, writers can resume and complete the story within the specified timeframe. If needed, revisions may be required based on feedback received.

NOTE: It is not allowed to use any AI tools to aid creation and all submitted content will be reviewed for plagiarism and AI usage. All work must be written independently; the use of generative technologies is strictly prohibited.
Requirements
Residence in the United States
Idiomatic fluency in English (US)
Excellent writing skills in English (US) – grammar, spelling
Graduate or undergraduate degree in literature, journalism, or creative writing and/or proven experience in journalism, writing, or content creation
Ability to start and complete tasks within the given deadline
Strong attention to detail
Submission of a portfolio with 3 writing samples (400–700 words each), including at least one in the preferred genre; samples may include published articles, blog posts, reports, or other relevant works that demonstrate writing ability and experience.
