Part-Time Library Bookkeeper - Hasbrouck Heights Public Library The Free Public Library of Hasbrouck Heights is looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and dependable individual to join our team and support the financial operations that help keep our library thriving. This person will report to the Library Director and be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and supporting the daily administrative needs of our busy public library.
Key Responsibilities:
Process vouchers and maintain QuickBooks records
Handle accounts payable and receivable
Manage payroll and cash deposits (daily and petty cash)
Prepare financial reports, budget summaries, and cash flow analyses
Create vendor accounts and place orders for materials
Collaborate with the Friends of the Library Endowment Fund
Assist with vendor research and cost comparisons
Provide administrative support and help with library events or programs as needed
Attend two continuing education meetings each year
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience
Proficiency in QuickBooks and financial recordkeeping
Strong skills in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and general office procedures
Should Also Have:
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
A high level of confidentiality and professionalism
Ability to work well with both coworkers and the public
A friendly, helpful attitude and a commitment to community service
“Good Faith” Salary, Range, or Rate of Pay $25.00-$30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
