Part-Time Library Administrative Assistant - Hasbrouck Heights Public Library The Free Public Library of Hasbrouck Heights is seeking a capable and organized individual to provide clerical support for the library’s daily operations. This position reports to the Library Director and is responsible for assisting with business office functions, handling human resources tasks, and supporting library events. The ideal candidate will play an integral part of a vibrant, community-oriented public library.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing reports, meeting minutes, schedules, and legal notices.
Managing personnel files and assisting with HR tasks
Supporting events, grant applications, and room bookings
Handling deposits, mail distribution, and event calendars
Troubleshooting basic technical issues with staff
Assisting with special programs and activities as needed
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of administrative experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Ability to multitask, maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and work independently
Should Also Have:
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work well with both coworkers and the public
A friendly, helpful attitude and a commitment to community service
“Good Faith” Salary, Range, or Rate of Pay $20.00-$25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
