Vice President of Marketing & Communications
Experience Fayetteville – the official destination marketing organization for one of the most dynamic and creative cities in the Ozarks – is seeking an experienced Vice President of Marketing & Communications to lead our destination brand strategy and drive Fayetteville’s visibility in regional and national markets.
This executive role plays a core part in advancing Fayetteville’s tourism economy by overseeing all marketing, communications, and public relations functions for the Advertising & Promotion Commission.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of annual destination marketing strategies
Oversee integrated campaigns across paid, earned, owned, and shared channels
Strengthen Fayetteville’s brand presence through research-driven storytelling
Build and maintain media relationships to increase earned media coverage
Manage agency partners, internal marketing staff, and departmental resources
Ensure alignment between community stakeholders, industry partners, and organizational messaging
Present marketing results, research, and KPIs to leadership and the A&P Commission
Ideal Candidate Profile We are seeking a tourism-minded marketing leader who understands the unique dynamics of the DMO environment and can translate community assets into compelling visitor experiences.
Qualifications
5+ years of marketing/communications leadership (DMO or travel/tourism experience strongly preferred)
Proven success in brand management, PR, and integrated campaign development
Strong understanding of tourism research, segmentation, and performance metrics
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with media, stakeholders, and community leaders
Willingness to relocate to Fayetteville, Arkansas
Compensation & Benefits
Salary:
$85,000–$110,000
Employer-supported health, dental, vision & life insurance
Retirement plan with 5% employer match
Paid vacation, holidays, floating holiday & sick time
Relocation package negotiable
