Job Summary This role offers the opportunity to transform how technical information is created, managed, and discovered within a cutting‑edge data services environment. You will be instrumental in redesigning an internal content ecosystem from the ground up, with a focus on AI‑powered search optimization and enhanced discoverability. Working closely with cross‑functional stakeholders, you will establish robust content governance frameworks, implement quality assurance processes, and ensure all documentation meets the highest standards of accessibility. Your work will directly impact both internal teams and external partners who rely on clear, accurate technical guidance to leverage sophisticated data platform capabilities.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive documentation for a foundational data services platform.

Collaborate with engineering teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather technical information and validate content accuracy.

Establish and maintain content audits and governance frameworks to ensure documentation remains current and relevant.

Develop and implement content reuse and single‑sourcing strategies to maximize efficiency and consistency.

Optimize documentation for AI‑powered search systems and ensure maximum discoverability.

Ensure all content meets accessibility standards and guidelines.

Evaluate, recommend, and help implement tools and technologies for the technical publications team.

Create and maintain style guides and documentation standards.

Skills

Exceptional technical writing abilities with focus on developer‑oriented content.

Strong understanding of software engineering concepts and practices.

Proficiency with at least one programming language such as Java, C#, or C++.

Expertise in designing and documenting software APIs.

Knowledge of XML‑based publishing systems.

Understanding of content management and single‑sourcing methodologies.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Strong presentation and stakeholder management capabilities.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Familiarity with web services and related technologies.

Experience

4+ years in a technical writing or lead writing role.

Demonstrated success delivering developer‑focused technical documentation for programming platforms.

Proven track record working directly with software developers and engineering teams.

Experience designing documentation for software APIs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, English, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Location: Boston, MA

Duration: 3 Months

Pay Range: $50–$53 per hour

Weekly Schedule: 40 hours

Job Status: Non‑Exempt
