Boeing Phantom Works has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Audio-Visual Engineer to join us as part of the Virtual Warfare Center team located in Berkeley, MO or Arlington, VA. This is a full‑time role that will be responsible for day‑to‑day tasks related to audio‑visual system operation, maintenance, and upgrades, including system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and user support.
The Virtual Warfare Center’s Infrastructure team is responsible for the design, maintenance, and operation of the computing, networking, audio‑visual, and physical environment. The VWC has several locations across the United States dedicated to large‑scale Modeling & Simulation engagements.
Position Responsibilities
Read and interpret schematics and architectural drawings
Daily functionality checks of audio‑visual and presentation technologies
Provide basic AV troubleshooting support
Document issues and resolutions for continuous improvement
Perform preventative maintenance tasks to help maintain customer spaces, including testing and repairing cables and various hardware components
Work with internal and external stakeholders
Adhere to and understand local safety standards for all site duties
Fine‑tune audio‑video systems to ensure optimal performance
Configure IP‑addressable devices to establish communication on a network
Ensure proper cable management, system labeling, rack building, and equipment mounting
Effective communication and interaction with manufacturers, vendors, and colleagues
Implement audiovisual standards and best practices
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.
Travel may be required up to 20% of the time.
Security Clearance
A final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Pre‑Start is required with the ability to obtain SCI Access post‑start.
Basic Qualifications
8+ years related work experience or an Associate’s degree and 6+ years experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Experience with Audio‑Visual system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting
Proficiency with test and calibration equipment
Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video, and control
Experience with IP networking
Ability to regularly climb and work from ladders up to heights of 35 feet, and lift equipment, tools, and materials
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Audio‑Visual manufacturers (Crestron, Biamp, Thinklogical, Dell Computers, Christie, etc.) both hardware and software
AVIXA General CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) is preferred
Experience with Audio‑Visual system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting
Typical Education for Lead Level Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., Associate) and typically 6 or more years’ related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Bachelor+4 years’ related work experience, 8 years’ related work experience, etc.).
Relocation This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
