Part-time Social Media and Outreach Coordinator

The Social Media & Outreach Coordinator will support the Allen School of Engineeringand Computing’s communication goals by managing its social media presence and servingas the primary liaison between the School and Office of Admissions by coordinatingoutreach activities to engage perspective students and the broader community. Thisrole requires a dynamic, high-energy personality with a passion for connecting people,telling compelling stories, and fostering engagement in a vibrant academic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Social Media Management: Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across theSchool’s social media channels to highlight programs, events, and achievements.
Collaboration: Work closely with faculty and staff within the School, and the University’sMarketing and Communications team to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
Trend Awareness: Stay up-to-date with digital communication best practices and highereducation trends.
Outreach Coordination: Organize, promote, and support School events and initiativessuch as Engineers Week and class and school visits.
Community Engagement: Foster an active online community by responding to messages,comments, and sharing relevant news.
Performance Tracking: Monitor social media and outreach metrics to assess and reporton engagement and impact.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in marketing and communications is preferred.
Previous experience with social media platforms is preferred (e.g. Instagram, Facebook,LinkedIn, X, YouTube, TikTok, etc.).
