Customs Entry Writer

The primary purpose of this role is to prepare, file, and follow up on entries to U.S. Customs and Border Protection and partner government agencies for goods imported into the United States. The Entry Writer will be primarily responsible for coding and data entry of importation files, coordinating the customs clearance process, and communicating with operations to ensure timely clearance, delivery notification, and invoicing.

Responsibilities
Import documentation review and verification for data thoroughness and accuracy
Data entry and submission of information via the Automated Brokerage Interface (ABI) and Document Imaging System (DIS)
Communication via phone and email with U.S. Customs, partner agencies, importers of record, consignees, shippers, clients, airlines, and Biocair staff
Generating, reviewing, scanning, uploading, and archiving shipping documentation
Generating and sending invoices for brokerage services
Key Competencies
Excellent interpersonal skills and a teamwork mentality
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills – valuing teamwork
Detail-oriented, with an emphasis on accuracy and compliance
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Prior experience writing customs entries is preferred
Benefits
Between $60,000 – $70,000 per annum, commensurate with experience

This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:30, offered as hybrid with 60% of the week from our office in Raleigh.
