You will be able to access and complete the application through “My Draft Applications” located on your Candidate Home page.**## Job Posting Title:Director of Communications & Alumni Relations## Position Type:Professional / Unclassified## Department:LSUAM VetMed - Department of Communications (Thomas Rooney (00047392))## Work Location:Veterinary Medicine## Pay Grade:## Job Description:The Director of Communications and Alumni Relations is responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and implementing comprehensive communications, engagement, and events designed to provide meaningful opportunities for alumni in outreach, service, and personal/professional development, with the goal of maximizing alumni engagement, loyalty, and support of LSU Vet Med. The position designs, implements, and manages all alumni engagement and communications activities, both individual and group based. The position facilitates and recruits alumni leaders to foster student/graduate engagement and philanthropy.**Job Responsibilities:**80%-

Conceptualize, implement, manage, and measure effective communications and promotions to all alumni of LSU Vet Med, including newsletters, email communications, social media channels, website content, event materials, magazine content, video messaging, event collateral material, invitations, and other channels as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Strategic Communications. Evaluate all channels and communications for KPI's, including reach, engagement, success, and quality control.Vet Med alumni, including online meetings, personal communications, personal appearances by the Dean at alumni-attended events, and facilitating opportunities for one-on-one and small group engagement.Manage a multi-pronged Board of Alumni to help shape the strategic direction of LSU Vet Med and engage alumni in outreach, philanthropy, recruitment, curriculum design and execution, and diversity efforts. Manage engagement between Board of Alumni and the Dean. Develop and manage opportunities for Board of Alumni to interface and engage with current LSU Vet Med students.Ensure alumni receive superior customer service and engagement internally and externally through the execution of events, including Alumni Continuing Education opportunities, wellness efforts and events, social opportunities, speaker series, receptions at major industry events, reunion events, awards and honors.Ensure alumni receive superior customer service and engagement internally and externally through the execution of events, including Alumni Continuing Education opportunities, wellness efforts and events, social opportunities, speaker series, receptions at major industry events, reunion events, awards and honors.Develop and maintain excellent interpersonal communications with alumni, including service requests/requests for information, traveling to visit/engage alumni, and acting as a conduit of information between alumni, LSU Vet Med administration, and LSU Vet Med current students.Work with LSU Vet Med Office of Admissions and Student Success to encourage alumni/student engagement opportunities. Facilitate alumni involvement in application folder reviews, interviews, career assistance, and the engagement of new graduates.15%-

Act as liaison with LSU Vet Med Development team to increase alumni philanthropic support, cultivate relationships with key alumni, and identify major gift prospects. Collaborate with the Development team to secure and promote class gifts.Work with the Marketing team to assist with B2B marketing efforts targeting referring veterinarians who are alumni, including assistance in facilitating sales calls and collaborating on Continuing Education programs and opportunities.5%- Other duties as assigned.**Minimum Qualifications:**Bachelor's degree; and 7 years of related experience managing communications plans, event strategies, and engagement programs for alumni groups. Experience in managing alumni relationships. Exposure to philanthropic efforts with a large alumni base. Experience with ROI tracking and reporting.**Preferred Qualifications:**Master's Degree; and 10+ years of experience managing communications plans, event strategies, and engagement programs for alumni groups. Experience in managing alumni relationships.
