Responsibilities include coordinating all elements of the patient visit, entering information into the electronic medical record, improving clinic flow, and performing technical, patient‑care, and clerical functions.

Duties

Assist with physical examinations, administer routine medications, perform routine laboratory tests, and operate specialized medical equipment.

Manage the daily flow of the Care Team and facilitate daily huddles.

Follow enhanced and standard rooming protocols; prepare clinic notes by manually entering EHR documentation for history of present illness, review of systems, physical exam, assessment and plan.

Populate patient‑reported information into provider‑built EMR tools for specific disease states and preventative visits.

Review EMR for patient‑care gaps, address missing data, and update necessary information.

Communicate a summary of patient‑reported information to the provider prior to or during rooming.

Accompany the physician or provider into the examination room to transcribe the encounter in real time.

Accurately document the encounter, including problem list, history, review of systems, physical exam, assessment and plan, procedures, medications, referrals, patient education, and instructions for self‑care.

Document laboratory and radiographic results as dictated and organize all test results in the patient’s medical record.

Input orders for provider signature, including referral, medication refill, imaging, or lab orders.

Identify scribed encounters using the scribe signature per policy.

Schedule future appointments, referrals, procedures, and diagnostics.

Provide patient instruction with pre‑approved education materials specific to the chief complaint.

Print after‑visit summaries and complete discharge from the exam room.
