The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.
Condition to be met by candidates:
- Leghold a doctoral degree in the field of the humanities, in the discipline of culture and religion studies or a related discipline.
- Proof of publication within the last four years of a research monograph or three highly rated research articles corresponding to the discipline of Cultural and Religion Studies in journals on the ministerial list of bullet journals; or chapters in peer-reviewed collective monographs published in publications on the ministerial list of bulleted publications.
- Knowledge of the theory of culture, philosophy of contemporary humanities;
- Knowledge of cultural anthropology;
- Knowledge of media and communication issues;
- A proven interest in the transformations of contemporary culture, especially in its psychosocial dimension and global reach;
- Documented experience in teaching in higher education institutions and skills in this area (the jury reserves the right to ask the candidates for an open lecture).
- Knowledge of the Polish language (spoken and written) to the extent necessary to conduct lectures
- Active knowledge of at least one congress language as demonstrated by participation in international scientific life: for example, participation in scientific projects, foreign scientific conferences, presenting papers in the congress languages and publishing research papers in this language in foreign publications.
In addition:
- Knowledge of English to the extent allowing for the conduct of classes will be highly valued.
- Preference will be given to candidates with proven experience in obtaining external funds for the implementation of scientific research or the implementation of team research or educational projects certified by managing or participating in a foreign or domestic project financed by funds obtained in domestic or foreign, open competition procedures (including the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, NCN, NCBiR or FNP); or obtaining equivalent financial support for research from domestic or foreign institutions, or submitting at least one application in grant competitions that was evaluated positively (in the case of a known score achieving a minimum of 70%) in the last evaluation stage, but did not gain funding due to lack of funds.
Responsibilities(respectively in the research, teaching, organizational area):
- Preparation of scientific publications, published in high-scoring journals and prestigious publications;
- Conducting classes with students of the BA and MA degree studies (also in English).
- Applying for internal and external (including international) research grants;
- Active participation in conferences;
- Fulfilling duties related to organizational work for the Institute of Cultural Studies;
- Promoting and popularizing science.

- Declaration of the discipline in which the candidate will conduct research and in the case of people conducting research in more than one discipline the percentage of their involvement in each of these disciplines (download Declaration of scientific discipline ).
- Self-presentation (information about scientific, organizational, and other achievements).
- List scientific publications in the last ten years.
- Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers representative of his or her scientific achievements or an explanation of the lack of them.
