Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Local SEO Manager on a contract basis. This role is perfect for a self-starter who lives and breathes local search. You will be responsible for managing and executing local SEO strategies for a portfolio of Virginia-based clients, focusing on improving their local search visibility, driving qualified traffic, and increasing conversions from their geographic service areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Google Business Profile (GBP) Management: Fully optimize, manage, and monitor client GBP listings, including Q&A, posts, photos, and service updates.
• Citation Management: Conduct regular audits of client citations, ensuring NAP (Name, Address, Phone) consistency across the local search ecosystem.
• Local Keyword Research: Identify high-intent local keywords and service-area-specific terms for clients.
• Reputation Management: Monitor and develop strategies for client reviews on Google, Yelp, and other industry-specific directories.
• On-Page Local SEO: Optimize service pages and location pages with localized content and schema.
• Reporting: Track and report on key local search KPIs (e.g., map rankings, calls from GBP, local traffic) using tools like BrightLocal or SEMrush.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (3+ years) in a dedicated Local SEO role, preferably in an agency setting.
• Expert-level knowledge of Google Business Profile management and optimization.
• Proficiency with local SEO tools such as BrightLocal, Yext, Moz Local, or similar platforms.
• A strong understanding of the local search ranking factors and algorithm updates.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously.
• Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
