ICONMA is hiring: Technical Writer in Secaucus

Our Client, a Medical Research company, is looking for a Technical Writer for their Remote location.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with part of a small, agile team document new features and technologies. Delivering high quality, comprehensive educational material in an agile environment. Evaluate and learn and then explain exciting new technologies facilitate customer utilization and adoption of our products. As a key member of the team, this individual will help design, develop, and maintain customer education with a focus on quality, simplicity and thoroughness.
• Responsible for planning, organizing, writing, ( 3 plus years) and editing online help documentation, programmer reference guides and user manuals, FAQs and online help.
• Research technical design specifications, interface design, design diagrams or test specifications.
• Acquires and organizes basic source material, including applicable specifications, engineering write-ups, and drawing packages. Helps coordinate the layout and design of the material.
• Troubleshoots expected performance discrepancies.
• 2 Works with systems analysts and programmers to create and edit application and systems documentation, user manuals, online help, release notes, consumer email responses and procedures.
• 3 Collaborate with cross-functional partners (QA, Business Analyst, Development, etc.) in an Agile/Scrum team environment.
• Complete documentation tasks independently as well as under direction from the product team and department manager.
• Maintain and support education materials post-production.
• Develop documentation completely including performing stakeholder, team and compliance reviews.
• Work closely with other writers and /or product team members to develop the best approach and collateral for customer documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communication or equivalent.
• 3+ years of professional experience in technical writing.
• 3+ years of experience with Mad Cap Flare include:
• Ability insert graphics and hyperlinks, applying styles available in templates, creating cross references, snippets, table work, modifying html code as needed, creating and understanding targets, applying master pages, building TOCs, etc...
• Other: Experience documenting Web Services, specifically RESTful web services.
• Ability work independently and be a self-starter.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional American English skills.
• Ability handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with the full Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of Adobe Framemaker
• Knowledge of GitLab and GitHub
• Technical writer 3+ years’ experience
• Online help documentation
• Mad Cap Flare experience is preferred
• Other tools that assist with online documentation will work
• Insert graphics, hyperlinks, applying styles, snippets
• Work with systems analysists and programmers to create and edit applications and systems documentations (working with cross functional partners)
• Healthcare background a plus

• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
