IT Report Writer - Mortgage Data Salary:

$120,000 – $135,000 + Bonus + Pension (commensurate with experience)

Location:

Manhattan, NY – Near Grand Central

Work setup:

Hybrid, 3 days a week in the office

Overview Our client, a growing financial institution, is seeking a Mortgage Portfolio Business Analyst – FHFA Reporting Specialist to support Member Asset programs. This role ensures accurate FHFA compliance, timely reporting, and insightful portfolio analysis that directly impacts the bank's mortgage asset strategy. The ideal candidate brings 5 years of strong technical, analytical, and mortgage industry experience — balancing regulatory precision with data-driven insight.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain compliance with FHFA reporting requirements by delivering accurate and timely submissions.

Analyze and compare AMA reports across cycles to identify inconsistencies or risk profile changes.

Collaborate with Financial Risk Management and Investment & Portfolio Management teams to assess program risks and new features.

Oversee MAP single and aggregate pool commitments and monitor PFI sub-master commitments.

Lead the preparation of internal and regulatory AMA reports, including ALMC and Board materials.

Perform data validation and pricing comparisons between MAP and Client/Freddie Mac LLPA grids.

Develop reporting timelines and ensure high-quality data from vendor portals.

Support dashboard enhancements and process improvements within the AMA reporting environment.

Provide ad hoc analysis, project support, and cross-functional data insights.

Requirements

Advanced Excel, VBA, SQL Server (3+ years)

PowerQuery, and OR Qlik Sense expertise to build reports for the regulators.

2+ years of knowledge in the mortgage industry — origination, underwriting, or servicing preferred.

3+ years in business or data analysis, ideally within mortgage banking or financial institutions.

Familiarity with Oracle/Microsoft SQL and data mapping principles.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting (advanced degree preferred).

Strong understanding of residential mortgage lifecycle and credit risk transfer.

Proven ability to manage multiple reporting cycles and meet tight deadlines.

Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
