Position Summary The Marketing Specialist is a dynamic and creative position that leads and executes strategic marketing initiatives that enhance the hospital and clinic’s visibility, engage the community, and promote health services. This role emphasizes digital marketing, videography, community engagement, and employee recruitment support, making it ideal for a multimedia-savvy communicator passionate about healthcare and community impact.
Duties and Responsibilities Brand Standards Management
Create, maintain, and enforce Cherry County Hospital & Clinic brand standards across all internal and external communications.
Educate staff on brand guidelines, including logo usage, color schemes, typography, and tone of voice.
Review and approve all marketing, educational, and promotional content to ensure consistency with brand standards.
Provide training and resources to departments to support brand-aligned content creation.
Serve as a resource for branding questions and ensure alignment across all platforms and materials.
Digital Marketing
Develop and manage digital marketing campaigns across platforms (social media, email, website, Patient Connect, SEO - Search Engine Optimization/SEM - Search Engine Marketing).
Create and curate engaging content tailored to various audiences, including patients, staff, and the broader community.
Monitor analytics and performance metrics to optimize campaigns and report on ROI.
Maintain and update the hospital’s website and social media channels.
Collaborate with IT and external vendors to ensure digital platforms are secure, accessible, and user-friendly.
Videography & Multimedia Production
Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video content for promotional, educational, and internal communication purposes.
Produce video stories highlighting patient testimonials, staff profiles, hospital events, and health awareness campaigns.
Manage video equipment, software, and digital asset libraries.
Ensure all multimedia content aligns with brand standards and HIPAA compliance.
Community Liaison
Serve as a key point of contact between the hospital and the local community.
Coordinate and promote community outreach programs, health fairs, and public events.
Build relationships with local organizations, media outlets, and stakeholders to foster goodwill and collaboration.
Represent the hospital at community events to share updates and gather feedback.
Employee Recruitment Support
Partner with the Human Resources department and department leaders to develop and execute recruitment marketing strategies.
Create compelling digital and video content to promote employment opportunities and highlight hospital culture.
Assist in the design and distribution of recruitment materials across digital platforms and community channels.
Support HR in organizing and promoting career fairs, hiring events, and onboarding initiatives.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of recruitment campaigns and suggest improvements.
Education Content Collaboration
Work closely with the Education Department to develop and design engaging educational materials for employees, patients, and the public.
Assist in creating digital and video-based training modules, health education campaigns, and informational resources.
Ensure educational content is visually appealing, accessible, and aligned with hospital branding and communication standards.
Support internal communications related to staff development, continuing education, and patient safety initiatives.
Help promote educational events, workshops, and webinars through digital and community channels.
Knowledgeable of and committed to practicing Corporate Compliance policies and procedures.
Complies with Cherry County Hospital personnel policies.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with the Marketing Coordinator.
Graphic design experience.
Familiarity with marketing automation tools.
Experience in community engagement or public relations.
Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Ability to maintain complete confidentiality regarding patient care services.
Possesses personal qualities which enable the staff to maintain good interpersonal relationships and work well with people; examples of these are good judgement, understanding, loyalty, respect for the person as an individual, and empathy.
Must be knowledgeable of state and federal confidentiality laws, including but not limited to HIPAA, and be familiar with and follow all policies, procedures and instructions regarding the privacy and security of protected health information applicable to the position.
Minimum Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
2+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in healthcare or nonprofit sectors.
Proficiency in digital marketing tools.
Strong skills in video production.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Valid Driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Physical demands require sitting for long periods of time, standing and bending as required.
Primarily onsite with occasional travel for community events.
May require evening or weekend hours for event coverage.
Repetitive use of hands, arms, and eyes could cause strain.
Must possess the knowledge and insight to comply with universal precautions and hospital policies and procedures.
