Communications and Outreach Coordinator (Social Work) Vacancy open to: All candidates

Employment type: Permanent - Full-time

Hours per week: 40; Months per year: 12

Salary: $40,350 - $49,800

FLSA Status: Non Exempt

Division: Academic Affairs; Department: College of Health & Human Services (Col); Work Unit: School of Social Work; Work Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday‑Friday with occasional regional travel; Hybrid work schedule.

Primary purpose: Managing communications and outreach for the School of Social Work.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Essential Job Duties

Develop, implement, and manage external communication, projects, and events pertaining to the social work profession.

Social work student recruitment.

Design promotional materials and videos.

Market CSWE‑accredited BSW/MSW programs through social media.

Website management and planning, marketing, and execution of School of Social Work events including fundraisers and conferences.

Adhere to guidance from the Council on Social Work Education.

Engage directly with prospective and current social work students, funders, alumni, campus partners, and external stakeholders.

Occasional local and domestic travel for trainings.

Other Work Responsibilities

Other administrative activities related to student outreach and engagement based on changing unit needs.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training / Education

Project management, event planning, public relations, and/or sales‑marketing experience.

Experience designing promotional materials (newsletters, brochures, videos), using social media as a marketing tool, website management, and delivering presentations.

Goal‑oriented, ability to build relationships, multi‑task, problem‑solving, time‑management, strategic prospecting, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent written and oral communication skills; intermediate experience with Google Workspace, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Suite.

Knowledge of NASW Code of Ethics and CSWE competencies.
