Overview
WWAY TV in beautiful, coastal southeastern North Carolina is looking for a Weekend Meteorologist/Multimedia Journalist to join our team!
As our Weekend Meteorologist/MMJ, you’ll be the face of weekend weather coverage while also contributing to our newsroom. Southeast North Carolina experiences it all, from ice and snow to hurricanes and severe summer storms, so you’ll get plenty of opportunities to put your forecasting skills to work.
Responsibilities
Producing and delivering clear, engaging, forecast-driven weathercasts
Using our Baron Lynx weather system in innovative and creative ways
Tracking and reporting on severe and developing weather, sometimes with limited supervision
Developing story ideas, shooting, editing, writing, and going live in the field as a reporter
Connecting with our audience through social media and engaging digital content
Qualifications You will need a bachelor’s degree in meteorology. Experience with Baron Lynx, ENPS, and Edius is a plus.
