Job Description This position coordinates law enforcement communications for police officers, answers emergency calls for assistance, monitors building alarm systems, dispatches police officers, and coordinates fire and EMS workers. Serves as the point of contact for visitors to the police department and issues temporary parking permits to campus visitors.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong communication skills and the ability to relate clearly and concisely using various methods.

Ability to work with a diverse group of constituents, manage stressful situations with positive outcomes, and handle multiple priorities while making sound independent decisions.

Experience with computer systems, police radios, and other associated office equipment.

Ability to obtain certifications as a VCIN/NCIC operator, as well as DCJS dispatcher certification.

Preferred Qualifications

DCJS dispatcher certified VCIN (Virginia Criminal Investigation Network) Operator Certified NCIC (National Crime Information Center) Certified.

Higher Education experience.
