We are currently seeking highly motivated and detail‑oriented

Full‑Time Design Assistant

to join our New York City showroom team. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the kitchen and interior design industry while supporting our talented designers in delivering exceptional projects. The Design Assistant will play a key role in managing project documentation, sourcing materials, preparing proposals and final contracts, and ensuring smooth communication between designers, clients, and vendors. This position is ideal for individuals eager to learn the cabinetry design business from the ground up. The role offers an exciting chance to work directly with experienced designers and industry professionals while building a strong foundation in cabinetry design. You’ll gain exposure to luxury residential projects and develop skills that will set you up for long‑term career growth in the design industry with potential to advance in Bilotta’s design/sales team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR DESIGN ASSISTANT

Manage and maintain client job pricing documentation to support project profitability.

Producing shop drawings and special quotes for custom millwork.

Laying out details for appliances showing all necessary dimension clearances, section details and door swing or pull‑out info on all plans.

Prepare and complete client proposals accurately and efficiently.

Compile all necessary information to create client contracts and purchase agreements.

Gather and organize appliance and plumbing specifications for ongoing projects.

Process purchase requisitions for client‑approved materials.

Manage all contract addendums, including change orders and purchase agreements.

Develop project timelines and checklists to support project execution.

Source finishes and kitchen accessories (hardware, tile, etc.) and prepare client quotes.

Order, track, and manage samples for client presentations.

Act as a liaison for client inquiries in the designer’s absence.

Attend client meetings/construction meetings as needed; provide support/take detailed notes/follow up.

Coordinate ordering office supplies for the NYC showroom via the office admin.

Assist with special projects and other responsibilities as assigned including updating and organizing showroom product samples.

DESIGN ASSISTANT QUALIFICATIONS

Interior Design Certificate or Degree preferred;

recent design program graduates welcome to apply.

1–3 years of professional experience in kitchens and baths a plus.

Strong organizational and administrative skills with sharp attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent communication and client service skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); 3D design software/AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.

Knowledge of materials, finishes, and design elements preferred.
