How to Succeed

Take ownership of a high‑fidelity end‑to‑end model & simulation for various phased array and radar applications; develop and integrate signal processing functions and conduct sub‑system trade studies; act as system engineer to guide architecture design decisions and define requirements on proposals; apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as Radio Frequency (RF) and digital applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design RF Circuits using simulation tools, generate BOM, and identify necessary equipment and components to perform test
  • Interface with a layout engineer for PCB tape‑out
  • Tune and troubleshoot RF Circuits to meet spec requirements in a self‑guided manner
  • Train and give technical guidance to other engineers
  • Identify the bottlenecks of the technical progress in early stage and address the issue
  • Understand & provide power supply, thermal, mechanical, and reliability requirements of RF components
  • Provide input power, VSWR, and filtering requirements to System Engineering
  • Provide FIT against BOM list and evaluate possible failure paths
  • Assist product transition from Engineering to Manufacturing, including writing Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) and assembly of RF Circuits

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
  • Five (5) plus years’ experience in design and tuning of High Power Amplifier (>10W)
  • Experience in RF circuit simulation
  • Experience in RF component testing
  • Experience with product transition from Engineering to Manufacturing, including writing Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) and assembly of power amplifier
  • ADS/AWR/SPICE circuit simulation experience or equivalent
  • Good oral and written communication skills to interface with key internal and external customers
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires being a US person

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • Eight (8) years technical research role experience
  • Design experience in RF components such as combiner, filter, switch, mixer, circulator, VCO, power amplifier and antenna
  • HFSS simulation experience
  • Familiar with thermal consideration in PA design
  • PCB/chip‑on‑board design, test, and layout experience
  • MTBF calculation and circuit failure analysis experience
  • MMIC design and experience in interacting with foundry
  • GaN, GaAs, InP, or LDMOS semiconductor experience
  • Load‑pull experience
  • Active DOD Secret clearance

Compensation

Salary Range: RF Engineer IV: $132,320.00 – $198,480.00 annually. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
