General Description
SUNY Niagara seeks a part‑time instructor for our Music History and Repertoire I course. The course is taught in person on the Sanborn campus and explores musical styles, forms, and composers from Ancient Greece to the Classical era, including historical events and repertoire. The course is required for music majors and recommended for non‑majors with music experience. Typically offered in the Fall semester.
Remuneration
Pay rates: $960 per lecture hour; $860 per lab hour.
Typical Work Activities
- Teach the course on campus.
- Track attendance as needed.
- Report on student learning outcomes at semester end.
- Report final grades at semester end.
Essential Functions
Ability to work with and teach a diverse student population; effective communication with students, faculty, supervisors, and the campus community; develop, prepare, and present material; operate computers; perform physical duties and adjust teaching to ADA provisions.
Required Qualifications
- Three years of experience teaching at a high school or college level.
Desirable Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Music or related field.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Experience with the Brightspace learning management system.
