Nebraska Public Media offers a full spectrum of communications services to the citizens of Nebraska, the nation and the world. Some of these services include a nine-station, statewide noncommercial public television network affiliated with PBS; a nine-station, statewide noncommercial public radio network affiliated with NPR; a cutting-edge Digital Media Group; and state-of-the-art audio, video and multimedia production capability delivered via broadcast, satellite, cable, Internet and broadband delivery channels.
Summary Create, prepare budget, research, produce, write, shoot, and edit content for Nebraska Public Media Television original, promotion and contract productions. Produces and/or directs studio, remote, and web streaming projects. Projects include multi-camera studio and ENG field productions. Produce, write, shoot, and edit short and long-form features with social and mobile components. Creation of promotional content including writing and editing. Ensure effective production of station’s brand identity.
Forms of content include multi-camera studio and remote productions, web streaming, plus crafting additional pre-taped and edited features. Will work with a team of producers responsible for all of Nebraska Public Media original multi-platform programming. Will effectively work and communicate with project partners, other community members and internal Nebraska Public Media staff. This position may also create and maintain content on assigned social media and web/mobile sites and apps. Irregular hours and travel may be required on occasion.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications, multi-media, film-making, or relevant degree and three (3) years’ experience in program production, content creation, promotion, script writing, video editing and project management and supervision in television or a media related industry.
Additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute for required education/experience on a year-for-year basis.
Experience must demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills, effective story-telling through written and visual media.
Single camera and field production shooting and editing expertise.
Experience in multi-camera, studio, or remote producing and directing.
