Position Information Working Title: Producer II Department: University Television-0912 Requisition Number: S_250770 Posting Open Date: 11/26/2025 Application Review Date: 12/03/2025 Posting Close Date: Open Until Filled Yes Job Description Create, prepare budget, research, produce, write, shoot, and edit content for Nebraska Public Media Television original, promotion and contract productions. Produces and/or directs studio, remote, and web streaming projects. Projects include multi‑camera studio and ENG field productions. Produce, write, shoot, and edit short and long‑form features with social and mobile components. Creation of promotional content including writing and editing. Ensure effective production of station’s brand identity. Forms of content include multi‑camera studio and remote productions, web streaming, plus crafting additional pre‑taped and edited features. Work with a team of producers responsible for all of Nebraska Public Media original multi‑platform programming. Effectively work and communicate with project partners, community members and internal Nebraska Public Media staff. May also create and maintain content on assigned social media and web/mobile sites and apps. Irregular hours and travel may be required on occasion. See https://equity.unl.edu/notice-nondiscrimination/ Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications, multi‑media, film‑making, or relevant degree and three (3) years’ experience in program production, content creation, promotion, script writing, video editing and project management and supervision in television or a media related industry. Additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute for required education/experience on a year‑for‑year basis. Experience must demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills, effective story‑telling through written and visual media. Single camera and field production shooting and editing expertise. Experience in multi‑camera, studio, or remote producing and directing. Preferred Qualifications Proficient experience with Avid editing programs, Adobe Photoshop, After‑effects graphics, and switching. Advanced script writing skills for studio and/or field productions, long and/or short form. Employment & Compensation Posted Salary: $48,000/yr. minimum Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. Subject to DOT approved pre‑employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.
