About Us

Windy City Events Management is all about creating high-energy, culturally rich experiences for the Latino community in Chicago and beyond. We produce music festivals, 5K runs, street festivals, and immersive events where community + culture + great times collide. We’re looking for a savvy PR partner to help us amplify our stories, build media buzz, and make sure our events get the spotlight they deserve.

What You’ll Do

  • Craft compelling press releases, media alerts and pitch materials that capture the vibe and purpose of our events.
  • Build and maintain media lists—local, regional, national—especially outlets focused on Latino audiences and culture.
  • Pitch to journalists, bloggers, social influencers, and event calendars; secure earned coverage.
  • Collaborate with our marketing & production teams to align messaging, key visuals, event themes, spokespeople, timing.
  • Manage media logistics on-site when events are live (e.g., press check‑in, interviews, photo ops).
  • Monitor media coverage, compile post‑event reports (what ran, audience reach, ROI).
  • Work proactively: scan trends in Latino culture, music/fitness festivals, community events; propose fresh hooks and story angles.
  • Travel as needed (Chicago metro region and other U.S. states where are events are held) and be flexible for event weekends/evenings.

Who You Are

  • A PR pro (freelance/contractor) with a strong feel for events, media relations, and storytelling—ideally with festival or live‑event experience.
  • Experience and networks working with Latino‑focused media; bilingual is a must.
  • Strong writer and communicator with the ability to create meaningful narratives.
  • Organized and deadline-driven, comfortable managing fast‑paced event settings.
  • Strategic thinker and tactical executor—able to develop stories and pitch them successfully.
  • Willing to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.
  • Independent mindset with team collaboration instincts.
