Base pay range
$35.00/hr - $42.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and maintain user guides, API documentation, release notes, FAQs, online help, and knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and QA teams to gather technical details and ensure accuracy.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user‑friendly documentation for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years as a Technical Writer in a software or technology environment.
- Experience with single‑sourcing, structured authoring, or content reuse strategies.
- Experience writing developer‑focused documentation (e.g., SDKs, APIs, integrations).
- Experience with graphic or diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Figma, Snagit).
- Strong understanding of software development concepts, SDLC, APIs, and databases.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.) to interpret code samples.
- Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, Confluence, Markdown, DITA, MS Office, or Git‑based docs).
- Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and explain them clearly.
- Ability to prepare and present concepts and vision (written and verbal) to the software development team, management, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, strong attention to detail, and problem‑solving/critical‑thinking skills.
