The Team

Mattel Studios is charged with developing and producing television content and theatrical films for the Mattel brand. Drawing from existing Mattel IP as well as original pitches, the studio has a wide range of active projects spanning all genres.

The Opportunity

The Sr Studio Operations Coordinator reports to the VP of Studio Operations and Strategy within Mattel Studios. Daily tasks include administrative duties (scheduling, call rolling, travel/expenses) and business responsibilities (financial modeling, task management, tracking, note‑taking, deck-making). The candidate must handle a large volume of typical coordinator duties to support Studio Operations & Strategy.

What Your Impact Will Be

  • Manage VP’s calendar, internal/external meetings, travel arrangements, daily/weekly agendas, and expense reports.
  • Proactively coordinate meetings with internal executives across Mattel Studios and other divisions, and third‑party clients/partners across various time zones on behalf of the VP.
  • Draft agendas, meeting notes, and follow‑ups.
  • Provide support for the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, long‑range plans, project‑specific P&Ls and financing plans, ad‑hoc financial modeling, tracking reports, operational roadmaps, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Track execution of operational tasks and initiatives, and manage the database of files on shared drives.
  • Support the VP to ensure coordination, integration, and communication between Studio, legal, and finance.
  • Work a full five‑day week schedule with a minimum of four days a week in‑person at Mattel’s El Segundo office.
  • Handle multiple tasks and projects, growing as a project management professional.
  • Communicate with the VP daily, prioritizing messages and requests that arrive at the desk.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business operations coordination, preferably within entertainment or studio environments.
  • Industry knowledge and understanding of the current entertainment business and climate.
  • Strong Excel spreadsheet/modeling skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong proficiency in building and managing spreadsheets and data entry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with internal and external partners.
  • Strong adaptability to changing environments.
  • Self‑starter with a proactive mindset and strong organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks, especially data entry.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Task‑oriented with organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, including phone skills.
  • Experience with Airtable.
  • A degree in business or an equivalent discipline is preferred but not required.
