Fiber Design Review Coordinator
We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Fiber Design Review Coordinator to support and strengthen our fiber network design review process. In this role, you'll ensure high-quality FTTH engineering packages, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help drive continuous improvement in outside plant (OSP) design standards. Key Responsibilities Lead and Improve the Fiber Design Process Develop and implement new initiatives that streamline the network design workflow and drive operational efficiency. Influence cross-functional decisions by partnering with engineering, construction, deployment, and vendor teams. Ensure High-Quality Engineering Deliverables Manage and optimize the engineering design process from initial concept through as-built completion. Oversee engineering vendor workloads and deliverables to ensure milestone alignment. Maintain strong quality control standards, proactively identifying issues and proposing creative, actionable solutions. Approve engineering designs prior to client submittals, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Drive OSP Design Accuracy and Constructability Produce and review efficient designs for new developments, relocations, and network upgrades. Identify and validate new construction route opportunities, resolving cable path and placement challenges. Provide comprehensive QA/QC across key OSP components, including: Bill of Materials (BOM) Splice Sheets (SS) Fiber Construction Drawings Permit Drawings Single Line Drawings (SLD) Track corrective actions through project close-out. Support Deployment and Cross-Functional Teams Collaborate with field engineering teams to resolve quality issues and maintain design integrity. Provide detailed support to network deployment, construction, and permitting groups. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience. 3+ years of experience working with FTTH network infrastructure. Experience with OSP/ISP fiber construction environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences. Preferred Qualifications Expertise in GIS, 3-GIS, and AutoCAD. Comprehensive knowledge of fiber optic network equipment, OSP architectures, splicing practices, and overall system design. Experience creating and reviewing: BOMs for multiple OSP architectures Splice Sheets, with the ability to diagnose and resolve SS design issues Fiber Construction Drawings across various architectures SLDs for F1 and F2-level projects Understanding of ROW/easements, municipal permitting, and local utility requirements. Proficiency with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Drawings, Slides). Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of Google Earth/Maps. Strong presentation skills with the ability to represent projects from business, technical, and product perspectives. Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and time-management abilities.
