The sessions will begin in September 2025 and run throughout the school year. We are looking for individuals who can teach guitar, ukulele, or keyboard in a fun, patient, and welcoming environment. The focus is not on perfection, but on confidence, creativity, and connection. Volunteer Role Details: Position: Music Volunteer (Guitar, Ukulele, or Keyboard Instructor) Time Commitment: Wednesdays from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Starting in September 2025 Weekly commitment Total of 4 half-hour one-on-one sessions per evening Duration: 2 hours per week Ideally a minimum commitment of 3–6 months (flexible based on your availability) Location: IRSA Summerside Office 6-30 Greenwood Drive Summerside What You will Do: Teach beginner-level guitar, ukulele, or keyboard to newcomer children and youth Build rapport and confidence in children and youth through music Adapt to various learning styles and levels Work with IRSA staff to ensure a safe, supportive environment What We are Looking For: Basic to intermediate proficiency in at least one of the following: guitar, ukulele, or keyboard Friendly, reliable, and encouraging attitude Experience working with children/youth is a bonus but not required Willingness to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check (required before beginning) Staff will always be on-site for support and supervision.
