Applications may be submitted by e-mail to jobpostings@mahoningcountyoh.gov or submitted to: Board of Mahoning County Commissioners Attn: Human Resources Department 21 West Boardman Street, Suite 300 Youngstown, OH 44503 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Work with a pool of reporters, rotating courtrooms every week Create verbatim records and transcribe court proceedings using computer-aided transcription on appeal or whenever requested Option to transcribe trials or hearings from digital recordings Maintain all exhibits used in trials or hearings and file them when needed Maintain personal job log and enter information into the computer Able to perform real-time services Answer telephones SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent spelling, reading, and grammatical skills Attention to detail and accuracy Effective time management, reliability, and punctuality Ability to work professionally and collegially with other personnel Professional appearance and demeanor SOFTWARE: Eclipse MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: Must have completed an accredited court reporting program. RPR certification is preferred. Must be an Ohio Notary Public. Qualified applicants may be required to submit to testing. All equipment, software, and supplies provided.
