Stage Director for High School Musical Production

Vergennes Union High School is seeking a creative, organized, and enthusiastic Stage Director to our upcoming high school musical production. This is a temporary, contracted position for the duration of the production season. The ideal candidate will work closely with the production team, including the Music Director, Choreographer, and Technical Crew, to bring a dynamic and educational theatrical experience to life for our students and community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee all aspects of staging and direction for the musical production Conduct auditions and cast the show in collaboration with the production team Develop and communicate a clear artistic vision for the show Run rehearsals, blocking, and scene work, maintaining a positive and inclusive environment Collaborate with the music director, choreographer, costume/props/set designers, and technical crew Attend production meetings and coordinate with school staff and volunteers QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience directing musical theatre productions, preferably at the high school or community level Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and volunteers Knowledge of theatre production elements including staging, blocking, and character development
