Providence Hall is a charter school located in Herriman UT. Central to the school's mission is teaching students to think critically, communicate effectively, and act responsibly. Students at the high school engage in classes that prepare them for college and career readiness through the AP scholars program, concurrent enrollment, and CTE.
Providence Hall High School is seeking a High School Spring Musical Director for the 2024-2025 school year.
The High School Spring Musical Director is a $1,500 stipend-based position.
Auditions, practices, rehearsals, and performances are held after/before school, evenings, and weekends.
Responsibilities:
Conceptualize, audition, rehearse, and produce a musical theater performance with approximately 20-40 students that will culminate in a Broadway-type musical performance. Coordinate and direct auditions/callbacks and collaborate with other members of the show's creative team with casting decisions based on the needs of the production. Oversee all aspects of the production, from staging, music, choreography, and technical elements to ensure a cohesive experience. Schedule and direct staging rehearsals, creating a cohesive vision for the production that aligns with the artistic goals and talents of the cast. Collaborate with other members of the show's creative team to integrate music and choreography, ensuring a unified artistic vision. Lead and contribute to production meetings, discussing artistic needs, set and costume requirements, and technical support. Foster an inclusive, supportive rehearsal environment, encouraging students to explore their roles and grow as performers. Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications:
Experience in directing high school or professional musical theater productions preferred. Knowledge of Musical Theatre shows and repertory. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Collaborative, with a demonstrated ability to work with a creative team and motivate students. Ability to create a positive learning environment that challenges and supports student performers. Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting. Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment. Lift up to 50 pounds, traverse school facility and assigned sport field/area, and lead athletes to safety in the event of an emergency.
