Closing Date: 10/10/2025 Lake Forest Community High School is seeking a Musical Pianist for "The Drowsy Chaperone."
This includes both rehearsals and performances.
Description:
The Rehearsal Pianist for Spring Musical collaborates with the other members of the show's creative team overseeing all aspects of the theatrical production that involves accompaniment music for the cast and ensuring the quality and integrity of the music during show productions.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with the creative team to develop the overall vision of the show and determine the mood and theme. Collaborates with the director(s) and tech director to plan all musical elements of the show. Provides musical accompaniment for vocal auditions and callbacks as well as vocal rehearsals, as needed, and all performances. Provides supervision and safety of students, materials, equipment and facilities during all rehearsals and performances. Maintains positive relationships with students, supports our diverse populations, and interacts with students and adults in a respectful manner Communicates and holds students accountable to a standard of expected behavior. May be required to perform other duties as assigned by administration.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred. Experienced in accompanying for musical theater productions. Ability to read a vocal open-score. Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions. Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner. Demonstrate ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner. Address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner. Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils. Ability to communicate to students, parents, and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner.
The spring musical will run from January 5, 2026 - April 18, 2026. Work hours for this position will vary.
Performance dates:
Wednesday, April 15 School-Day Matinee Thursday, April 16 at 7 pm Friday, April 17 at 7 pm Saturday, April 18 at 7 pm.
Salary and Benefits:
Per 2023-2028 LFEA CBA. No additional benefits associated with this position
