General Summary Provide mechanical systems BIM HVAC/PIPING /Fireprotection or Electrcal Systems design for a new construction and/or renovation of industrial facilities as requested by the client. The BIM Designer will develop construction drawings and specifications, which address the installation, integration, interconnection and control of components within the standard building codes.
Job Description
Review and/or establish project scope, necessary constraints and design approach with Project Manager, Engineering Team, and Clients
With assistance, perform calculations and energy models; formulate design and layout of mechanical systems including HVAC, Piping, Plumbing, and fire protection or Electrical Systems
Create engineering documents using computer aided design (CAD) technology utilizing Autodesk (Revit and AutoCAD) or manually with support from more junior staff
Conduct field measuring and checking at the construction site
Maintain working knowledge of latest building codes and standards used in the industry
Maintain organized project files containing project calculations, drawings, and engineering data
With assistance, select and source equipmen
Coordinate project with other discipline
Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering highly desired
5+ years of related experience in BIM Systems in mechanical or Electrical engineering field (HVAC/building systems/Electrical)
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Trane Trace 700 or other building energy calculation software, and Bluebeam
Knowledge in BIM 360 and Carrier HAP a bonus
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to Work on Site at Various Clients Facilities Multiple locations are available in MI (Sterling Heights, MI or Dearborn, MI) or Other States
Must be able to Travel as Required
Long term assignments, OT is availalbe
