Position Overview As part of the 6G Innovation Lab team, the Senior Patent Attorney (or Agent) will interpret cited art, identify distinctions, and coordinate prosecution strategies across multiple global jurisdictions. The role focuses on drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications related to 5G/6G wireless standards, ensuring timely and high‑quality patents.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage the standard‑essential patent (SEP) portfolio.
Draft 5G/6G standard‑related patent applications in‑house.
Prosecute pending patent applications globally, primarily at the USPTO and EPO.
Evaluate patents and patent applications regularly, including conducting prior‑art searches.
Review claim charts in collaboration with others to determine claim scope and mapping to wireless standards.
Collaborate closely with on‑site technical experts and inventors.
Qualifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Active registration as a US and/or European patent attorney/agent.
2+ years of experience with 3GPP‑related patent applications and prosecution.
Extensive experience with patent prosecution before the EPO.
Extensive experience with 3GPP‑related technologies and standards.
Previous in‑house and/or top‑tier law firm experience.
Strong organizational skills, technical acumen, and writing ability.
Ability to innovate and adapt to new methods.
