Neuropsychologist
Psychology Services of Alaska is a growing program that provides a wide array of outpatient mental health services throughout Anchorage. Our multidisciplinary team consists of a clinical psychologist, neuropsychologists, psychometrists, an LCSW, and a psychiatric nurse practitioner. We are looking for a motivated, highly skilled Neuropsychologist to help join our growing program. Our referrals come from neurologists, primary care providers and a wide range of medical specialists. We are especially interested in a pediatric or lifespan neuropsychologist but will consider applications from neuropsychologists who specialize in adults.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations of patients with a variety of brain-related disorders
· Depending on interests and experience, conduct additional types of evaluations including fitness for duty, chronic pain, presurgical evaluations, etc.
· Documentation and charting
· Feedback to patient and families regarding cognitive and emotional functioning
· Psychoeducation to patient and families regarding brain-related disorders
· Re-evaluation of patient’s progress, as needed
· Consultation with staff regarding patient’s cognitive functioning as it relates to treatment
· Participating in case reviews, case conferences, and discharge planning as needed
Experience and Qualifications:
· Licensed psychologist (Ph.D. or PsyD) in the state of Alaska
· Must possess a doctoral degree from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by The Council for Higher Education and Accreditation and meet the American Board of Professional Psychology/American Board Of Clinical Neuropsychology eligibility requirements in effect at the time the doctoral degree was awarded.
· Must have successfully completed two years of fellowship/postdoctoral studies in neuropsychology; ABPP/ABCN board eligible.
· Preferred/Optional: Completion of 2-year fellowship/postdoc; Two to five years of recent work experience in neuropsychology; ABBP/ABCN board certified.
