Description

BMA is seeking a

Communications Maintainer-Team Leader to join our team. This position is located in Williamsburg, VA and is contingent on contract award.

Job Summary Direct all preventive and corrective maintenance for more than 1,600 pieces of expeditionary communications equipment listed in NAVELSG's Table of Allowance. This includes radios such as PRC-152A, PRC-117G, PRC-160, RF-7850, RF-310 series, GPS DAGERs, power supplies, amplifiers, and complete communications suites. Lead a team of technicians performing inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs in accordance with OEM technical manuals, Navy 3M PMS requirements, and calibration standards. Oversee the use of advanced diagnostic tools-including TRTS-2700 and 3515N test sets-ensure proper COMSEC handling and maintain accurate maintenance records in DPAS-WM and OMMS-NG. Ensure full communications readiness across NAVELSG's global footprint. Lead a team of communications maintainers responsible for servicing more than 1,600 radios and COMMS systems, including PRC-117G, PRC-152A, PRC-160, RF-7850, and RF-310 variants. Oversee testing, calibration, and diagnostics using the TRTS-2700, 3515N, and other authorized COMMS test sets to validate system functionality. Ensure technicians follow proper COMSEC handling, storage, programming, and documentation procedures per Navy COMSEC and Information Assurance policies. Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs in accordance with OEM manuals, Navy 3M PMS requirements, SKED, and validated MRCs. Maintain detailed maintenance logs, calibration records, equipment histories, and repair actions within DPAS-WM, OMMS-NG, and supporting APSRs. Coordinate with Supply, Warehouse, and ILS personnel for parts requisition, repairable, and material tracking through OMMS-NG and NAVSUP supply processes. Provide hands-on and classroom training to junior maintainers on radio operations, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, COMSEC procedures, and safe repair techniques. Support readiness data synchronization and ensure maintenance updates flow into RCRP readiness reports to sustain accurate mission capability indicators. Verify that all communications gear remains mission-ready, properly calibrated, and fully serviceable for deployment, training evolutions, and contingency operations. Enforce adherence to all relevant safety, calibration, technical, and COMSEC directives across the communications maintenance team. Clearance Requirements

There is a Secret security clearance requirement for this position at the time of proposal submission.

Required Skills & Certifications

U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Secret Security Clearance. Associate's Degree in Electronics, Communications Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5+ years of Navy or DoD communications maintenance experience. Proficiency with multimeters, meggers, COMMS diagnostic tools, and tactical radio test equipment. COMSEC handling qualification and Information Assurance compliance training. Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and communication skills with the ability to guide junior technicians. Desired Skills & Certifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Communications, or a related technical discipline. Master Training Specialist qualification, Expeditionary Communications training, or NSW Communications School graduate. Completion of annual OPSEC, Cyber Awareness, and Navy Safety courses. Experience supporting NAVELSG, NECC, or expeditionary communications programs. Benefits
