About this job:

Day to day execution: performs hands-on tasks applying proven industry standards and techniques, while adherence to policies, procedures, or guidelines in the area of responsibility. Installs, tests, analyzes, troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, related equipment in order to support short-term operations and minimize downtime.

What You'll Do:

Perform daily and repetitive data entry into a computer system along with data verification of coded or un-coded data from documents or other sources.


Collect designated forms, data, and documents, and enters data from these forms into a designated desktop, mid-range or main frame computer system.


Perform editing and maintenance of databases, including the maintenance of accurate and current data records.


Read and review user manuals and receives training, technical direction, and guidance on data processing operations.


Initiate or respond to inquiries from staff, schools, and management.


Collect and compile information and data for reports.


Compose, type, edit and appropriately distribute correspondence, memos, notices, agendas, reports and other materials; checks for accuracy and completeness of materials.


File relevant paperwork and search files for various data.


Download and manipulate records from OCLC and other databases for cataloging library books.


Perform level II cataloging.


Coordinate the classification, indexing, shelving and circulation of books, periodicals, audio-visual and multi-media information.


Research and investigate special projects and prepares reports and analysis.


Coordinate and collaborate with LION team to determine technical solutions for cataloging issues and performing retrospective conversion projects.


Provide information and training to less-experienced catalogers.


Respond to and resolve inquiries from District staff and students, referred from Library Tech I staff.


Check and verify invoices, order and item records.


Perform other duties as requested.
