Job Description
City: Charlotte, NC

Onsite/ Hybrid/ Remote: Onsite (4 days a week)

Duration: 12 months

Rate Range: Up to$64/hr on W2 depending on experience (no C2C or 1099 or sub-contract)

Work Authorization: GC, USC, All valid EADs except OPT, CPT, H1B

Schedule:
  • 4x10 shifts (2 PM-12 AM, four days per week, at least one weekend day; Wednesday is overlap day)
Must Have:
  • 3+ years' experience in sustainment, uptime, and stability of live media production/distribution environments
  • Proficiency in SMPTE standards (ST 292M, ST 424M, ST 2110, ST 2059, IEEE 1588, ST 2022-7, SCTE-104, etc.)
  • Foundational Cloud Certification (Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Cloud+, or AWS Solutions Architect - Associate)
  • Experience with MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, JPEG XS compression
  • Knowledge of Evertz control/monitoring (VistaLink, Magnum, VLPRO, SDVN, VUE, etc.)
  • Experience with asset management, transcoding/encoding, graphics, NAS/SAN technologies
  • Hands-on troubleshooting with IP-based broadcast equipment, studio tech, file-based workflows, automation systems, and transmission systems
  • AWS infrastructure troubleshooting (S3/Glacier, EC2, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret AutoCAD/technical drawings
Responsibilities:
  • Respond to and resolve issues impacting production, broadcast, and content distribution across networks
  • Troubleshoot streaming audio/video signals in SDI and IP 2110 routing environments
  • Conduct diagnostic testing, repair/replacement, and preventive maintenance on broadcast systems and equipment
  • Install patches, updates, and upgrades to hardware/software workflows
  • Manage and oversee third-party service providers (contractors, vendors, unions, etc.)
  • Train, motivate, and evaluate technical staff; coordinate peer training sessions
  • Specify, procure, and maintain media technology equipment and supplies
  • Contribute to long-term media technology planning and capital improvements
  • Develop/implement policies and procedures to integrate systems with business and entertainment goals
  • Provide operational support for production/distribution systems across enterprise properties
  • Participate in complex engineering projects under senior guidance
  • Maintain and contribute to system/workflow documentation
  • Serve as an influencer and problem-solver, connecting technical strategy with organizational goals
  • Work under fast-paced, high-growth conditions with tight deadlines and minimal direction
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant media engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast, cloud, and IP-based production technologies
  • Proven troubleshooting expertise across media systems and cloud infrastructures
  • Physical capability to climb ladders, work at heights, and operate lift platforms
  • Valid driver's license
