I. Purpose of Job
Performs inspections and video recordings of the City's sanitary sewer infrastructure according to Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) standards.
II. Essential Job Duties
A. Inspect sewer lines
- Using PACP numerical scoring standards, inspects publicly owned gravity sanitary sewer lines using closed captioned television (CCTV) inspection equipment and software to visually inspect and identify defects and other issues that may affect operability of the City's sanitary sewer infrastructure.
- Assists with acceptance of public sanitary sewer infrastructure.
- Performs manhole condition assessments via electronic tracking system.
- With direction from Supervisor, responds to customer complaints during normal and afterhours, inspect mains and services and troubleshoot problem areas.
Performs other job duties as assigned, including:
- Cross train others in the use and maintenance of CCTV equipment, trouble-shoot equipment malfunction or problems.
- Using CCTV, assists with locating damaged or blocked sanitary sewer lines.
- Assists others with sanitary sewer collection system condition assessment using SL-Rat equipment.
- Accurately observing, scoring, documenting conditions of the City's sanitary sewer infrastructure per PACP identifier coding.
- Setup and assembly of appropriate traffic-control devices and worksite.
- Completing and submitting accurate and appropriate daily logs.
- Ability to understand and interpret GIS maps for the purposes of pipe identifier details.
- Working around hazardous waterborne pathogens.
Operates CCTV truck and equipment involved in the inspection of sanitary sewer wastewater collection, storm drains, and other related structures and systems within the City's service area including metal detector, power tools, and push camera.

The work environment is loud (examples: metal can manufacturing department, large earth-moving equipment).
Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience: The required knowledge, skill, and abilities to satisfactorily perform job duties that are normally acquired through attainment of a High School Diploma or GED, plus three to six months related experience and/or training.
Required Certifications/Licenses:
Ability to obtain Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) Certification within probationary period.
