The Asheville Tourists are seeking a Video Production Assistant to help usher in a new era of Asheville Tourists Baseball. McCormick Field, home of the Tourists, is currently undergoing a $40 million renovation that will be complete for the 2026 season. This renovation will include a brand-new over 2,000 Sq. Ft. videoboard, brand-new control room, sound system, and camera system!
Position Overview
The Video Production Assistant will assist with all aspects of game presentation and press box operations during the Tourists' 2026 season. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a high-quality entertainment experience for fans through engaging video content, in-game production, and efficient support of the marketing and entertainment team. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, live-event environment. This role will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that all video content aligns with brand standards, engages fans, and enhances the overall experience across multiple channels including a brand-new videoboard and our online broadcast.
This individual should be a creative storyteller, experienced leader, and technically proficient in digital media platforms and video production tools.
• Support the Director of Marketing with the setup and execution of in-game entertainment elements and fan engagement initiatives.
• In-game responsibilities can include, but are not limited to: Setup and breakdown for production, Producer, Technical Director, Video board graphics operator, Camera operator, graphic editor, replay, music operator, etc.
• Oversee live events and game-day video operations, including videoboard content and live-streaming elements with multiple camera feeds, instant replay
• Help manage and train game day staff assigned to video, camera, and control room positions.
• Provide on-site support during events as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Assist with the total operation of all McCormick Field events.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Recent graduate majoring in Communications, Media Production, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field.
• Strong work ethic and burning desire to be successful in the sports industry
• Basic proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) or similar video editing software.
• Basic knowledge of video editing, production software, and live-event systems (experience with Daktronics Show Control, Tricaster, or similar platforms preferred).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Willingness to work nights and weekends
• Professional Baseball experience strongly preferred
