Position: Technical Writer (6–12 month contract, hybrid – Cincinnati suburb of West Chester)
Overview
This technical writer will take ownership of the administrative responsibilities required to manage and sustain processes for the LEAP Program. The role ensures that all material discussed and changes introduced during reviews are accurately captured, organized, and stored. Outcomes are evaluated through the lens of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), with Safety always being the highest priority.
Scope of Work
Technical Documentation Management
- Develop, organize, and maintain technical documentation related to PCB and JPCB processes, including design files, memos, and reports.
- Ensure all documents adhere to aerospace industry standards, company protocols, and FLIGHT DECK requirements.
- Implement and manage version control processes to maintain document integrity and traceability.
- Regularly audit and update documentation to reflect the latest changes in processes, designs, and decisions.
Data Transition and Formatting
- Convert technical data and presentations between PowerPoint and Word memos, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to formatting standards.
- Create visually appealing and professional documents that effectively communicate complex technical information.
- Collaborate with engineers and program managers to ensure technical content is accurately represented and aligned with project goals.
Meeting Coordination and Support
- Attend PCB and JPCB meetings to capture detailed minutes, including technical discussions, decisions, and action items.
- Summarize and distribute meeting notes promptly, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of key outcomes and next steps.
- Track and follow up on action items to ensure timely completion and accountability.
- Coordinate meeting logistics, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and communication with participants.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between engineering, program management, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Support the PCB/JPCB process by ensuring all documentation and communication align with project timelines and objectives.
- Provide administrative assistance, including managing schedules, organizing files, and maintaining project records.
Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of aerospace technology, industry terminology, and PCB/JPCB processes.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and familiarity with file‑management systems.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation.
- Attention to Detail: Proven ability to ensure accuracy and consistency in technical documents and meeting notes.
- Organizational Skills: Demonstrated experience in managing multiple tasks, prioritizing deadlines, and maintaining structured documentation systems.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional team environment, supporting engineers, program managers, and other stakeholders.
Experience
Previous experience in technical writing, administrative support, or document management within the aerospace industry is highly preferred.
Fine Print
This is a W2 position.
